Description:
Project Title: Hazardous Materials Micro Course
Project Summary:
This project involved designing and developing a responsive Storyline microlearning course on the handling of hazardous materials. The course was designed to support workplace safety training initiatives for frontline and industrial employees, with a focus on rapid knowledge reinforcement, accessibility, and compliance with OSHA guidelines.
Problem Statement:
The goal was to create a lightweight, interactive e-learning module that provided essential information on the best practices, safe handling, and emergency response. The training needed was designed for use as part of onboarding and annual refresher training
Solution Overview:
Using a rapid development approach, I designed a single-page Storyline course with clean navigation, a scenario-based quiz for knowledge checks (part of the complete course not included in this sample). Key topics covered include:
- Best practices
- Safe handling procedures
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Emergency response
Impact:
The microlearning format supports flexible deployment and just-in-time training for field workers. Because of its short-form format, the course loads quickly, making it ideal for integration into intranet sites or mobile field tools. It improves learner engagement through interactivity and supports safety compliance initiatives across various departments.

As the lead instructional designer and developer, I was responsible for:
- Conducting needs analysis based on OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Designing the instructional flow using adult learning principles
- Writing and chunking content for clarity and retention
- Developing the course using Storyline
- Building interactive assessments with real-time feedback
- Testing responsiveness across browsers and devices
